Every time I arrive at the School of Metaphysics World Headquarters campus, I give honor to the sacred structure the World’s Peace Dome.
Its existence and its continual unfoldment has changed the lives of many. I continue to ask myself, "What can I give to you? How can I aid in your preparation towards your dedication?" Like the little drummer boy, I bring t-shirts and canvas bags.
Having a seat on the Board of Governors of the School of Metaphysics, I asked at our regular monthly meeting if we could auction off the T-shirts and bags at the Family Weekend that was coming up on June 28th-29th. I said that I believed that we could raise at least $1000.00. The answer was a unanimous Yes!!!!!
Elizabeth Vaughn, (a camp counselor and one who had been a camper since she was 10 years old and is now 16 years old) and I carefully cut out the Peace Dome logo (see right) which has been created specially to symbolize the World’s Peace Dome Dedication.
We cut out the logo from the T-shirt transfer sheets and ironed them on to the ten T-shirt and three canvas bags which we had. As we prepared these special garments, Elizabeth and I discussed how much money we wanted to raise for the Peace Dome. I stated that my goal was at least $1000.00. She stated, "$1000.00 for each T-shirt, I can imagine that."
Saturday evening of Family Weekend before the campers presented what they had learned at camp this year (2003) to their parents, students in the School of Metaphysics and their family members, we opened up the auction.
Elizabeth , who had imagined being the auctioneer started us off. The other campers Logan, Susan, and Nissa joined Elizabeth and I in the front of the crowd.
I talked about the needs the Peace Dome still had and how we would be able to prepare her for her dedication from the donations received. Then the fun began! T-shirts were going for $50.00. 90.00, 125.00 etc.. One of the canvas bags went for $300.00.
Then the manifestation of Elizabeth’s vision, one of the T- shirts became the concentration point of many of our love. People came together as the amount continued to increase. Then a voice that has been heard from by many. One that is filled with love, support, and wisdom saying, "Whatever is received for this one T-shirt will be doubled." Dr Barbara Condron.
