|The Power of Prayer around the World is an experience of how people on the Earth communicate with their Maker. It opens the mind and heart to where we have come from, why we are here, and where we are going. This musical cantata was first presented at the 1993 Parliament of the World’s Religions held in Chicago and the evolution into the form you will experience today arose from attending the most recent Parliament in Melbourne, Australia in December 2009. |
Cantatas, bringing to life the stories of the birth of Jesus and the Resurrection of Christ, have been offered at the College of Metaphysics since 1983. They have offered a suitable creative outlet for SOM students to express their Spiritual progression through the fine arts, particularly music. “The POWER of PRAYER” was first presented at the 1993 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago.
With the turn of the millennium, the Peace Dome was built on campus, and its influence diversified the opportunities for metaphysical theater. “The Silver Cord”, a play based on intuitive research conducted at COM, premiered there in 2004. “The Invitation”, a four movement play based on an imagined meeting of eight Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, is given in the dome annually. 2010 is seeing a further development through monthly Peace Studies, focusing on global champions of peace past and present.
This program brings to light the sights and sounds of love and compassion for the beauty, majesty, and wisdom of that which is eternal. It is our hope that what you experience will draw you closer to your Maker.
