COLLEGE OF METAPHYSICS, the Seed Idea for Dedication Day
How Peace Dome Dedication Day came into Being
In January 2003, School of Metaphysics leaders met in general assembly at the College of Metaphysics. Saturday evening we gathered in the upper chamber of the under-construcion Peace Dome. Midst the sawdust and cold winter air, our hearts grew warm as our minds opened to the possibilities of peace in our lifetimes. That night we set a physical goal for completing the Peace Dome and opening it to all people: October 11th. This is just three days after the 30th anniversary of the School of Metaphysics.
Here in words and pictures are the results of that meeting. First, the words.
These were the ideas for our Peace Dome Dedication Day as they evolved and were recorded in our first group meeting led by Dr. Barbara Condron.

By March, most of these ideas were given life, integrated into our dreams and ideals for October 11, 2003.
In the mind map of the Peace Dome the central image of hands holding the world which is the dome and from which Light emanates is a powerful one. We chose it for what it says in the Universal Language of Mind, pictures. Its meaning is both external, exoteric and internal, esoteric. When peace exists within the Self, peace is a natural expression of Self outwardly. In this way peace wells up from within each individual to move across the face of the Earth.
The Mind Map is a tool to develop whole mind thinking used by students in the School of Metaphysics. By using images and words, the subconscious and conscious minds are engaged, thereby drawing upon the power inherent in the mind for both intuition and reasoning. This map was created by ten individuals under the direction of Dr. Laurel Clark following our first group meeting. It serves as the seed idea from which our thoughts and actions flow.
In the talk that occurred the night before, the what-ifs were discussed. Since we are all teachers of mind, the ideas flowed easily. One persons idea would stimulate another in someone else's mind. Since we practice visualizing - the art of thinking in pictures - we could receive the images as the person described them.
As Tad spoke about making a rug for the upper chamber floor, we could envision it. This evolved quickly into the wall hangings that will be created from fabric circles you sent to us from your native land.
The rock walls for the surrounding gardens came alive when someone mentioned stones that people could bring, and then stones that people who might not be able to come could send to us and we would place them in the wall on their behalf. Within another month, this would evolve into a relief map of the world set into what would be known as the Healing Wall, where stones from around the world could be inlaid, a glimmering, glistening testament to the light in all parts of our world.
The ideas continue to grow and expand and what is most remarkable is how almost all of them owe their existence to the original seed ideas discussed January 4th in the unfinished Peace Dome. As you explore this site you will experience the growth of these seed ideas.
