Universal Hour of Peace in the South

The Universal Hour of Peace 2011 in Dallas, Texas
By Scott Hilburn

At midnight everyone present joined closely to read the Universal Peace Covenant. It was a wonderful experience. After the reading we shared ideas of what the Peace Covenant is and how we can share the Peace Covenant with other people. This was a wonderful experience with my Spiritual Family. Here are stories from two of them.

Martha Manning:

The most moving part of the evening was reading the Peace Covenant as we shifted from 2010 to 2011. It was such a beautiful way to begin the year because it allowed me to truly focus my attention on the importance of world peace and more importantly, how achieving peace is something that we as humans are fully capable of making happen. I went away from the experience filled with more love, gratitude, awareness, and happiness than I had ever experienced before. This is what life is all about – connecting with people on a soul level and striving to bring out the best in each other.

Cheri Sledge:

New Year’s Eve at the Dallas School of Metaphysics meant a lot to me. It made for a deeper connection among my classmates, teachers and myself. I had a great deal of fun. At midnight we sang and then read the Universal Peace Covenant together. Doing so was like broadcasting my desires and intentions to the universe with the expectation of creating peace first within myself. I know that peace for the world first starts within [me] and is demonstrated without. My desire for peace in the world starts with me and the reading of the Peace Covenant reminds me of that.
