It was an awesome experience being in Puerto Rico as an ambassador of the School of Metaphysics. A group of leaders from all across the planet gathered to bring ideas together about ways to usher in the New Humanity at the first conference to launch what is referred to as the Alliance for the New Humanity. This conference was designed to bring together leaders from the government, media, and corporate sectors to discuss ideas of how to create a sustainable and enlightened future for all of humanity.
Dr. Barbara asked our delegation to tell people about and pass out Peace Covenants and One Voice Postcards to everyone we met. I experienced a tremendous gratitude for the fact that we have the Universal Peace Covenant! The School of Metaphysics is truly a force for enlightenment in the world. At the conference we gave out over 500 Covenants and met many wonderful souls. Everyone there was very receptive to participating in One Voice and reading the Peace Covenant we were giving people a way to grow further, to expand their understanding of peace, and most importantly to foster a personal vision for peace and practice it in their daily lives.
Ever since Dr. Barbara asked me if I wanted to be a part of the delegation, I was excited about the possibility of making so many new friends, and connecting with so many spiritually minded, influential people. My goal for the trip was to form many new friendships and bonds of love with those whom I met at the conference.
Once we arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico from the airplane, we traveled in a shuttle bus to our hotel a number of miles away on the island. In the shuttle bus with Dr. Laurel, Connie, Karen, and myself were several other people who were attending the conference. One was Jon Dumas, a musician who does sound healing. He told us he would be playing his native instruments at various points throughout the conference. He plays the didgereedoo, an Aboriginal instrument made from a long hollow tube. This instrument has a very deep, soothing sound and is very meditative. It was very interesting that we kept meeting him in various places throughout the weekend.
One of the early experiences I had at the conference was meeting Vice President Al Gore, who was there to give a lecture on ecology and how we can can respect our environment more. I introduced myself as being from the School of Metaphysics, and handed Mr. Gore a Universal Peace Covenant and One Voice postcard, and explained what the document is, and invited him to read it at midnight on the 31st and join in the One Voice for peace across the world. He said that he thought it was great, and that he would participate.

It was very expansive to connect with all of the leaders at the conference. They ranged in age from 16 to over 70, men and women, from all cultures and faiths. Their life paths and professions ranged from Indian Swami to Economists. It was truly a gathering of humanity many different perspectives, each bringing truth to the whole. They all had wonderful ideas to share, the Swami bringing his message of how what we are all seeking is the infinite, and that ultimately the infinite cannot be found in the physical, but in our consciousness.
The economist Helen Henderson gave statistics and numbers to illustrate the results of our actions and choices in the world, with how we use goods and services, and what kind of thinking that reflects. She talked about how we need to act responsibly in all aspects of our lives and how money is not the measure of happiness in our lives. The standard needs to be gross national HAPPINESS! These and many other wonderful ideas were shared.
I look forward to the School of Metaphysics being a vital part of future conferences because of the valuable teachings we have to offer this distinguished group of leaders, which is the importance of personal application and transformation in your consciousness. We offer to the world the practical, scientific ways in which any individual can expand their consciousness.
I met a Professor, author, and philosopher named Dr. Ashok Gangadeen and gave him a copy of the Tao Te Ching Interpreted and Explained by Dr. Daniel Condron. He was very interested in the book, and told me that he is currently working on completing a translation of the Tao himself, which will soon be published. I was impressed with this gentlemans presentation because he drew from all holy scriptures, faiths and traditions to illustrate the same truth in various forms. His knowledge of all the main faith traditions was so thorough that it would convince a person of any of those faiths that he WAS of that faith. The only thing was that he knew them all.
It was an honor to meet two Nobel Peace Laureates at the conference. I had conversations with Betty Williams on a few occasions, and I introduced Dr. Laurel to her, and told her about the role we cast her in The Invitation. I let her know all about the Peace Covenant and One Voice, and she is definitely interested in participating. In her own deep Irish accent, she said Oh, thats so wonderful. Oscar Arias Sanchez, another Nobel Peace Laureate from Costa Rica who has helped to be a force for peace, democracy, and demilitarization in the world served as President of Costa Rica in 1987 and forged a peace document between all central American governments. He was very supportive of the Universal Peace Covenant and understands that peace must exist within the heart of every individual.
The corporate leader, chairman and CEO of Tires Plus, Tom Gegax, was there to deliver a message on the importance of bringing spirit to business. He said that in the media there is a belief that there needs to be conflict for there to be drama, and that is necessary to create interesting news. He is a strong proponent of being positive and presenting an image of what is desired in an exciting way, and that is the drama! That is the excitement! He was very animated and enthusiastic in his presentation and talked about how he encouraged visualization and concentration among all the employees in his corporation. I told Tom about the Intuitive Business Analysis and the Universal Peace Covenant and told him about the work we do in the School, and he immediately recognized the value and said that we were doing the underwork that stimulates and helps everyone else. It painted an image of the School being a kind of foundation. I think that image is very accurate, because we teach that thought is cause and the effect is the manifest likeness.
These are just a few of the amazing and influential people with whom the School of Metaphysics is now a little more connected. I am very interested in nurturing and developing our relationship with all of these individuals, and seeing what doors open and how many more ways the people of the planet can benefit in enlightenment from the simple metaphysical truths we teach. It is truly through discipline and application that the Self is changed, and thus the world.
