Reflections
on the
POWER of PRAYER
around the WORLD Cantata

given March 28, 2009 in the Peace Dome

All Student Weekend I experienced the beauty of the moment at the Cantata. With a still mind, my heart opened and stayed open. I was able to experience my thoughts concerning humanity through others expression of movement, song, and prayer. From the eyes of the audience the thought of it being flawless was spoke over and over. I am very grateful for having experienced this and look forward to its evolution. –Charles Cartwright, Springfield, MO
I would like to start off by saying, "thank you", to everyone involved with the Cantata. It was beautiful. I had goose-bumps on my arms and tears in my eyes while watching. I thought to myself afterwards, that was better than any church service I could of went to. A message of unity and worshipping our creator came to life last Sunday at the COM. On my way home I decided to stop in the Windyville store to check it out, and I had a pleasant talk with the owner. She said she saw me at the College. She said, "I am Christian, I really never give much thought about other religions, but that really made me think." She also said, "It's like there is one Creator for everyone, and we all just view the creator differently." ---- Hania L.
During the Cantata on Student Weekend, no longer did it seem that there was separation between the religious groups. Connectedness prevailed, hand over hand into the next song. Everything was heightened that day in the Peace Dome and when we were bowing, although it had always been a humbling and entraining experience, there was a click of alignment with pure Grace that I am still affected by days later. This moment I now realize likely coincided with the time the sun suddenly broke through the glass doors of the Peace Dome during the Him I Call a Brahmin song. – Ivy Norris, OKC, Oklahoma
I found the dance between Walter and Ariadne to be so beautiful, spiritually intimate almost overwhelming, the beauty, with the dancers floating around, enchanted. Indian culture rings sacred chords in my heart and this piece was stinging them melodiously. At the completion of "Om Namah Shaviya" my crown chakra was emitting a steady slightly blissful vibration, I felt connected to something pleasantly familiar. The Christian, Jewish, Islamic piece strung a sense of surrendered devotion in me. The Buddhist piece with Ryan Jones singing, also lovely, simple, lovely. –Jesse Loren Reece, Louisville, KY
Personally, I had many emotions and experiences throughout the weekend. I probably had such high unrealistic expectations of the College of Metaphysics that I initially experienced some disappointment about the physical conditions of the facilities. By being open and more accepting of the present moments, I was able to have a positive overall experience. The service activities help me to practice giving and receiving as well. I was able to have fellowship with other students and share our learning and growth with each other. Dr. Daniel Condron was inspirational and I appreciated his teachings. The most positive moving experience I encountered was during the cantata at the dome when I actually saw an aura appear around Elizabeth and her face glowed with radiance. The placing of the tile in the peace dome was also emotionally moving to me. My experiences throughout the weekend retreat went from unrealistic optimism, ego resistance and doubt, to humble acceptance and hope that we can through will and pragmatism have the promise of evolving to a higher level of consciousness and enlightenment. --- Respectfully submitted by David C. The Prayer Cantata filled me with heavenly Light in every fiber of my being. I saw myself and the Universe in a new, more expanded way. The beauty of the Cantata overwhelmed me with awe and thankfulness that the Creator lives within my Soul and the Souls of all those I encounter. My Ideal for the weekend was Connectedness with my own Self and for that to spread to Connectedness with all people; the Cantata experience enabled me to achieve this understanding. I am so grateful for having experienced this and look forward with hope and love to see it evolve. --Jaclyn Walker, Springfield, MO
